MOU Signing with Yuhua Community Sports Club (CSC)
On 2 April 2013, the Yuhua Community Sports Club (CSC) and Albirex Niigata Football Club (Singapore) will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as part of a community outreach efforts collaboration. The signing of the MOU will take place at 21 Jurong East St 31 #04-02, Jurong East Sports Complex at 6.30pm, before the match between Albirex Niigata Football Club (Singapore) and Tanjong Pagar United Football Club.
2 This collaboration reinforces the close partnership between the Yuhua CSC and Albirex Niigata Football Club as the football club commemorates their 10 years presence in Singapore. The collaboration also aims to have more football fans to support towards a charitable cause (particularly in Yuhua), to provide an avenue for the needy to watch the sports and be inspired to work towards living the sporting ambitions.
3 Under the MOU, Albirex Niigata Football Club (Singapore) will donate S$1.00 for every fan who attends their home matches at the Jurong East Stadium during the 2013 Singapore League season. The home matches will include those played in the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League, RHB Singapore Cup and the StarHub League Cup. The total aggregate donation sum will be donated via cheque to the beneficiary or beneficiaries in Yuhua division, identified by Yuhua CSC, at the end of the football season. This MOU is the first of its kind to be signed between a professional football club in Singapore and a grassroots organisation.
4 The Guest-of-Honour for the event will be Ms Grace Fu, Adviser to Yuhua Grassroots Organisations. She is also Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs. Ms Grace Fu will witness the signing of the MOU.
5 Mr Lim Chock Sing, Chairman of Yuhua Community Sports Club, says:” We are very happy to have this collaboration with a professional football club which will benefit the residents in Yuhua. It reinforces the PA’s mission to build and bridge communities as it provides a platform for us to promote community bonding through sports and to build a caring, inclusive and cohesive community in Yuhua.”
6 Mr Daisuke Korenaga, Albirex Niigata Football Club (Singapore) Chairman, says: “As a foreign club playing in the Singapore Professional football league, the S.League for the 10th consecutive year, we are pleased to have up to 70% of our fan base Singaporeans. We want to reach out to more local fans, in particular residents in Yuhua division, where the club is based. This initiative would encourage more fans to bring their friends to come watch our game, be entertained and contribute to a good cause to the beneficiary selected by Yuhua CSC.”
