S.League 17th leg. Quickfire White Swans Down Mighty Stags in 4-Goal Blitz

It was billed as a top of the table clash between league table leader Albirex and 2nd placed Tampines. However, Albirex, nicknamed White Swans, have other ideas apparently.

The White Swans scored 3 quickfire goals in a 10-minute span in the first half to deem the game effectively over in the 22nd minute.

Kento Nagasaki opened fire at the 13th minute by scoring his trade mark freekick. Ryota Nakai scored a scorcher from distance 3 minutes later. It was effectively game over when Yasutaka Yanagi scored his first goal from Albirex from a corner kick in the 22nd minute.

Tampines substituted veteran defender Mustafic Fahrudin with National Team Striker Fazrul Nawaz at the 30th minute in an attempt to reduce the deficit. However, Albirex stood firm and held our ground.

In the 83rd minute, Captain Shuto Inaba intercepted a pass from the opponent and made a through pass to Ryota Nakai. Ryota made no mistake and scored his 2nd goal of the night to make it 4 nil at full time.

With this win, Albirex stretches its lead at the top of the table to 12 points over 2nd placed Tampines, albeit Tampines has 2 games in hand. It augurs well for the White Swans with 7 games left in the season, and the Swan’s next match will be against Garena Young Lions in 3 week’s time.
