SPL 11th Leg vs Brunei DPMM FC “Winning Eleven”

Albirex stretches its perfect winning run from the start of this season to 11 games, with a 5 nil win against DPMM Brunei.

The White Swans took an early lead when winger Yamanaka broke down the left wing and send a reverse pass to an unmarked Taku Morinaga, who smashes his shot into the goal.

Albirex continued to dominate the game but the 2nd goal only came in the 36th minute when hotshot striker Shuhei Hoshino shrugged off the attention of his marker and grab his 11th goal of the campaign with a left footer. 4 minutes later, Captain Water Murofushi scored a goal of the year contender when he dribbled past 4 DPMM defenders and sent a curler beyond the reaches of the DPMM GK.

The White Swans went into the break with a healthy 3 nil lead.

Albirex continued its dominance for the 2nd half but DPMM has tightened up its defense. However, the DPMM GK had a crazy moment in the 75th minute and swung a punch at Taku Morinaga. Referee Farhad showed him the red card immediately.

Few minutes later, Taku Morinaga bursts into the box and a DPMM defender could only divert his shot into the path of a grateful Yamanaka. The clearance bounced off Yamanaka and went into the net for Albirex’s fourth goal of the night.

Captain Murofushi scored his 2nd goal of the match with the last kick of the match when the reserve DPMM GK could only parry Hoshino’s gdalbound shot into Murofushi’s feet.

A 2nd consecutive 5 nil win and an 11 consecutive win for the White Swans. Next up will be Home Utd Protectors at Jurong East Stadium in 6 days time.
