SPL 22nd Leg “Quick Fire Goals Extend Unbeaten Run”

Two quick fire goals in each half kill off the Young Lions challenge and extends Albirex unbeaten run in the league to 22 games with 2 games remaining.

Within 52 seconds after kick off, Adam Swandi made a good layoff to marauding left back Kenya Takahashi, who lets fly with a ferocious shot into the bottom right corner. 15 minutes later, 1.9m centre back Shun Kumagai was left unmarked during a corner kick and headed the ball into the net to extend the White Swan’s lead.

However, 5 minutes later at the 21st minute, a defensive mistake at the right side allowed the Young Lions to pull a goal back.

The White Swans have many chances to score but rushed their shots on many occasions.

2 minutes after half time, winger Riku Moriyasu broke down the right flank and cross the ball to Kamata, who made no mistake to score the third goal for the White Swans.

The 2nd half mirrored the first half as the White Swans dominated with many shots on goal in vain.

Final score Young Lions 1 Albirex 3.

The White Swans will be presented the Inaugural Singapore Premier League Trophy next week, in the last league home match at Jurong East Stadium on 23rd September against Hougang United.
