2019 SPL 11th Leg vs Tampines Rovers FC "White Swans Dispatched Stags 3-1"
The White Swans made easy work of fourth-placed Tampines Rovers this evening with a 3-1 win.
As early as the 6th minute, Captain Kyoga Nakamura sliced the Stag's defence with a lovely through ball to left winger Hiroyoshi Kamata. Kamata placed his shot to the top right hand corner to leave Stags custodian, Syazwan Buhari, grasping at thin air.
The White Swans dominated the first half and had chances to score 2 more goals. New recruit, Yosuke Nakagawa, dribbled past the entire Tampines defence but his goal bound shot cannoned off the upright. Winger-turned-striker Zamani was left with an open goal but he could only head over Nakamura's teasing free kick.
3 minutes before half time, right winger Daizo Horikoshi broke Tampines' offside trap and rounded Syazwan to give the White Swans a 2 nil lead into the break.
The White Swans continued to dominate after the break. In the 69th minute, a lovely turn by Nakagawa saw him in a one-to-one situation with Syazwan. The Stags goalkeeper parried his shot but Horikoshi was on hand to react quickest to the rebound. His goal bound shot hit an unfortunate Irwan Shah, Tampines left back, and the ball trickled into the goal.
Tampines got a consolation goal in the 81st minute when Shahdan Sulaiman sent an unstoppable free kick into GK Kendo's top right hand corner.
The White Swans comfortably see out the remaining minutes to win the game 3-1.
With the victory, the White Swans moved up to 2nd place, 6 points behind leaders Brunei DPMM FC.
