The White Swans suffered a heart breaking 0-1 defeat to League Champions Brunei DPMM FC in the last group game of the Komoco Motors Singapore Cup this evening.

18 year old midfielder Daichi Tanabe was seen sobbing uncontrollably after the game and had to be comforted by his teammates.

The defeat meant the White Swans finished third in Group B as Geylang International
snatched 2 late goals against Hougang United in another match tonight to finish second. Brunei DPMM FC top the group and only the top 2 qualify for the semi finals.

The defeat also signified the White Swan's stranglehold on the Singapore Cup for the past 4 years came to an end.

The game itself was delayed for 15 minutes for kickoff at 8pm due to lightning alert.

Brunei DPMM FC's star local player, Azwan Ali, scored a stunning volley in the 7th minute to shock the host.

The White Swans huffed and puffed throughout the match. However, they could not create many clear cut chances as DPMM defence held firm.

This is the last competitive game of the season for the White Swans and the team will have to regroup for next season to be more competitive.
