[Match Report] Making the Most of the Numerical Advantage to Secure a 4-0 Victory

In Matchweek 6 of the league, Albirex Niigata FC (S) faced Balestier Khalsa FC, who had drawn their opening league match. With both teams aiming to maintain their position in the upper part of the table, this was a crucial fixture with three points at stake.

From the early stages, Albirex took the initiative and played on the front foot, actively looking for goals.
In the 7th minute, a long throw-in from Katsuyuki Ishibashi was met by Takumi Yokohata, who struck a powerful mid-range effort, but his shot sailed just over the crossbar.
In the 23rd minute, Shingo Nakano used his physical strength to hold up the ball in front of goal before laying it off to the onrushing Ishibashi. Ishibashi went on to take a shot, but it was denied by an excellent save from the opposition goalkeeper.
In the 33rd minute, a rough challenge by the opposition defence resulted in a red card, giving Albirex a numerical advantage midway through the first half.
In the 40th minute, Yokohata made a sharp cut inside and carried the ball forward before taking a shot himself, but the effort drifted wide to the right of goal.
Two minutes later, Ishibashi delivered a corner kick that Kim Taeuk met perfectly, but once again the opposition goalkeeper produced a fine save.

Deep into first-half stoppage time, Cho Eunsu sent in a cross which was met by a header from Kim Taeuk, adding a second goal and sending Albirex into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Albirex continued to dominate possession in the second half, maintaining control of the game.
In the 58th minute, Naoki Yoshioka broke free near the edge of the penalty area and delivered a delicate lofted cross into the box. Nakano met it with a superb jumping volley to score his second goal of the match.

Making full use of their numerical advantage, Albirex calmly circulated the ball and continued to create scoring opportunities.
In the 76th minute, substitute Yang Hyeonju produced a clever turn in front of goal and fired off a shot, but it was once again kept out by a fine save from the goalkeeper.
In the 81st minute, Kim Taeuk headed a corner kick back across goal, where Yoshioka calmly nodded the ball into the net to make it 4-0.
Albirex maintained a solid defensive display thereafter, denying the opposition any goals and securing a convincing 4-0 victory with a composed performance that made full use of their numerical advantage. This result marked a second consecutive league win, as Albirex picked up an important three points in their push to remain among the league leaders.
