In Matchweek 12 of the Singapore Premier League, Albirex Niigata FC (S) faced Tanjong Pagar United FC, who currently sit in 8th place in the league standings.

Albirex took control of the match from the early stages, maintaining possession and pushing the play into the opposition’s half.

In the 22nd minute, Albirex broke down the left flank as Mamat delivered a cross into the box. Abdul Rasaq received the ball inside the penalty area, skillfully turned while holding off the defender, and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner to open the scoring.

With momentum on their side, Albirex continued to press. In the 25th minute, Naoki Yoshioka carried the ball in midfield and played a penetrating pass to Yang Hyeonju. Yang combined with Shingo Nakano with a quick one-two to break through the defense and create a shooting opportunity, but his effort went just wide of the right post.

In the 32nd minute, Yang Hyeonju broke through on the left side and delivered a cut-back cross. Sim Jun-yen met the pass but was unable to direct his shot on target.

Albirex doubled their lead in the 35th minute. Receiving the ball on the left flank, Yang Hyeonju cut inside and fired a powerful shot that found the back of the net, further strengthening Albirex’s grip on the match.

Albirex maintained a composed performance and went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The second half continued in a similar fashion, with Albirex dominating possession.

In the 50th minute, Tanjong Pagar managed to break through down the left flank and deliver a cross into the box, but goalkeeper Takahiro Koga responded calmly to deny the opportunity.

In the 65th minute, a forward pass from Naoki Yoshioka found Yang Hyeonju inside the penalty area. Yang managed to get a shot away, but it was blocked by the opposing goalkeeper.

In the 68th minute, Albirex introduced Nicky Melvin Singh, Katsuyuki Ishibashi, and 17-year-old Jaden Heng to further strengthen the attack.

In the 75th minute, Yang Hyeonju received the ball outside the box and unleashed a powerful left-footed strike, but the opposing goalkeeper produced an excellent save.

In the 82nd minute, Jaden Heng received the ball on the right flank, drove forward, and took a shot, but once again the goalkeeper denied the attempt.

Albirex continued to control the game with solid possession, and the match ended 2-0.

Dominating the game from the early stages, Albirex secured a valuable three points.
