[Match Report] Caught by a moment’s lapse, Albirex fall 0–1 despite creating chances.

In Matchweek 13 of the Singapore Premier League, Albirex Niigata FC (S) traveled to the home ground of Geylang International FC.
The match began with both sides looking to take control, but Albirex gradually found their rhythm and began creating chances.
In the 5th minute, a combination between Yang Hyeonju and Mamat broke down the left flank, with Mamat eventually getting a shot away, but it was blocked by the opposing defender.
In the 31st minute, Albirex earned a free kick opportunity. Katsuyuki Ishibashi stepped up to take it directly, but his shot struck the wall and did not find the goal.
In the 36th minute, Shingo Nakano picked up the ball near the halfway line, drove forward toward goal, and unleashed a shot, but it went over the crossbar.
In stoppage time of the first half, Albirex threatened from a corner kick, but were unable to convert, and the first half ended 0-0.

In the second half, Albirex increased their attacking pressure.
In the 53rd minute, Nozomi Ozawa played a through pass that sent Nakano through on goal, but the opposing goalkeeper rushed out to deny the chance.
Just a minute later in the 54th minute, Ozawa found Rasaq with another through ball. Rasaq dribbled past a defender and managed to take a shot, but again Albirex were unable to find the net.
However, in the 72nd minute, Albirex were punished for a brief lapse. An opposing midfielder broke through down the right flank and finished with a shot to give Geylang the lead.
