Comments from Keiji Shigetomi
I have decided to step down from my position as head coach.I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved with the club, especially the fans and supporters who stood by us through every moment.
The time spent fighting alongside the players, staff, and everyone at the club will always be special to me.
My role as head coach may come to an end, but my respect and appreciation for this club will never change.
Thank you very much for everything.
Comments from Chairman Daisuke Korenaga
Shigetomi has been leading our top team for about one and a half seasons, since he joined us midway through the 2024/25 season.
This season, he helped the team improve its hard work and teamwork, and created a team that was exciting to watch. We are also very proud that he was named Coach of the Year at the SPL Awards.
On behalf of the club, I would like to thank him sincerely for his great contribution.
At the same time, we believe that the football and team spirit shown this season should not stay only with the top team. We want to bring this approach to the whole club, including the COE, the women’s team, the academy, and the school.
For this reason, we have asked Shigetomi to take on a new role as Technical Director from next season.
To build a club that can continue for 100 years, we need more than only good results from the top team. We need a shared football philosophy and better player development across the whole club.
With his experience and passion, we will continue to build a stronger club and show our supporters even better football as FC Jurong.
