On Sunday, November 6, we held an event with children from our soccer school, cheer school, football academy, and YAFA (Yuhua Albirex Football Academy)
YAFA is an academy established in cooperation with the Yuhua community.
The venue was Jurong West Stadium. Blessed with fine weather, all 133 participants gathered on the pitch for a day of physical exercise and interaction with the players.
The first event was a performance by the cheer school students. The cheerleaders have always performed energetically at home games, but this was a rare opportunity to see them up close and personal. The cheer school students showed the results of their daily practice to the best of their ability!
After the cheer performance, students were divided into groups for the inter-group relay. Cheer students also joined the teams and challenged the teams to race using soccer balls and cheerleading pom-poms.
Next, each team played a mini soccer game. It was impressive to see the soccer students and cheerleaders, both of whom usually play soccer, forming mixed teams and cooperating with each other to chase the ball.
Some of the children were nervous at first to be in front of the professional players they usually see at the stadium, but by the end of the event, many of them were talking to each other in a friendly manner as they worked together to race and compete.
At the end of the event, a lucky draw was held and the players gave away spikes and training wear. Then, on behalf of the players, Lee Tadanari and Head coach Yoshinaga gave messages to the children. They expressed their gratitude to the children for their usual support and their wish that they would enjoy soccer and cheerleading.
Afterwards, the children took pictures with players, and each seemed to enjoy interacting with the players as much as they wanted to.
The children enjoyed the special experience of interacting with professional players, and the players and staff were empowered by the children's pure enjoyment. We will continue to be active in order to become a club that is loved by more and more people.
